Traditional Village Festival of Srem
Held annually in early September in the village of Srem, Topolovgrad Municipality
The village of Srem, situated along the river valley, hosts an annual festival where local residents and cultural figures invite all their relatives, friends and admirers of the Sakar Mountains to join in a traditional community celebration.
The Srem festival is a symbol of living traditions, togetherness and a strong connection with Bulgarian roots. The festival preserves and passes on the affection for the Topolovgrad region, while gatherings between generations are a source of inspiration and unity.
Program
As part of the festival, there is a folklore programme featuring local community cultural centres, as well as a market showcasing local crafts and farm products. Traditional grilled food is served, and traditional Bulgarian circle dances are performed in the village square.
