Organised by RAO Trakia – Stara Zagora and the Folklore Society – Stara Zagora, in partnership with the Vazrazhdane 1912 Community Cultural Centre and under the patronage of the Mayor of Bolyarovo Municipality. The festival is dedicated to the renowned Thracian folk singer Elena Gramatikova and to the richness and beauty of Strandzha folklore.
Participants from across Bulgaria can take part with folk songs as well as instrumental and dance performances, rituals and customs. The festival is a competition, with participants ranked in different categories. Ensembles presenting songs, dances and traditional musical instruments choose themselves which section of the group category they will compete in. Participants are ranked by a jury of professionals – musicologists and folklore specialists.
