A festival of authentic foods and crafts presented by local community centres, producers and craftspeople over two consecutive days in Ivaylovgrad. The festival aims to remind us that traditions are not simply forgotten stories, but a living heritage that deserves to be respected and preserved. The event also features a variety of workshops, including Kukeri mask making, lutenitsa preparation, soap making and many others. They are designed to inspire young people to embrace traditional crafts, take up these practices themselves and pass them on from generation to generation. Because people are the only ones who can keep traditions alive.
Program
Participation in the festival is competitive. Winners are selected for the best overall presentation of a stall, the most original stall decoration, the most interesting recipe, the most authentic dish, the best pastry dish, the best sweet treat and more. The festival is held every other year at the beginning of September.
