Topolovgrad Municipality

Its former name (before 1934) was Kavakliy. In 1934, it was renamed Topolovgrad. In 1987, Topolovgrad Municipality became part of Haskovo Province. Before that, it belonged to Burgas Province.
Every year on 24 May—the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and of the Slavonic Alphabet—Topolovgrad celebrates its official town holiday.
