The Ilieva Niva Memorial Complex commemorates the tragic events of 1913, when Ottoman bashi-bazouk forces massacred 200 innocent Bulgarian children here, including infants. The St Petka Chapel, built on this site, reminds us of our moral responsibility and national duty to value human life and remember the past.
