Svetlina-1929 Community Centre is a source of pride for the people of Cherepovo, who preserve local traditions and pass them down from generation to generation. The community centre is a unifying force for the small local community, actively organising events for religious and traditional folk celebrations such as Trifon Zarezan, a traditional Bulgarian celebration of wine and vine growing; Christmas; Babinden, a traditional celebration honouring midwives and motherhood; and Sirni Zagovezni, a Bulgarian tradition of seeking forgiveness before the start of Lent.
