Kazankite Waterfall natural landmark

Topolovgrad Destination

A little-known but beautiful cascade waterfall with two drops. It takes its name from the Kazankite locality, where the rocks are unusually shaped like cauldrons overflowing into one another. It is located at the foot of the northern slopes of the ridge containing Sakar’s highest peak, Vishegrad. The river forming the waterfall is Zdravchevsko Dere, a tributary of the Manastirska River.

The river has created a series of rapids, small waterfalls and stone basins in its bed, carving them into the solid granite and forming a small cascade about one kilometre long, with pleasant places to rest along it. The river dries up in summer, but from early to late spring the area is exceptionally beautiful.
