DESCRIPTION:Izgrev-1921 Community Centre organises the creative festival Under the Old Plane Tree in Mezek with the idea of bringing together people of different ages and from different areas\, especially from Mezek and its surroundings. Guest instructors from different parts of Bulgaria are also expected to take part. Through creative workshops\, the festival will build a bridge between generations and art\, between authentic traditions and contemporary forms of expression. The aim is not only to make art accessible to all local residents\, but also to create a space for meaningful leisure activities and to encourage the preservation and transmission of Mezek’s cultural heritage.\n\nThe 14-day programme includes the following creative workshops and studios: Ceramics and clay work with Varvara Karnaukh – modelling soap dishes and decorative forms\, glazing ceramic pieces\, creating a collaborative clay mosaic and panel Pottery with Nikolina Andreeva – working on a potter’s wheel\, colouring clay pieces Watercolour painting with Maria Petkova – outdoor painting\, drawing inspiration from plants\, trees\, animals\, birds and insects\, observing and working with natural light Weaving and macramé with Ivalina Krasteva-Nedeva – knotting techniques on a wooden frame\, creating small decorative objects Traditional Embroidery with Nadka Shtegrova – traditional stitches and motifs\, combining traditional ornaments with a contemporary interpretation Wool Felting with Viki Getova – nunofelting for making gloves\, flowers for brooches Glagolitic Script with Rositsa Hadzhistefanova – introduction to the letters of the Glagolitic alphabet\, their writing and meaning\, drawing Glagolitic letters with ornaments Icon Painting with Rositsa Hadzhistefanova – applying gold leaf\, techniques for mixing paints with egg yolk\, precision and patience Calligraphy with Biser Nedev – calligraphic movements and techniques for writing lines and letters\, combining techniques for inscriptions Plasticine Typography with Varvara Karnaukh – modelling letters and words\, creating visual messages and a festival poster Stop-Motion Animation with Varvara Karnaukh – creating characters and letters\, an animated story about the old plane tree\, from seed to the present day Pantomime with Denitsa Gerkinova – working with body\, gesture and emotion\, various exercises for stage presence\, creating sketches for open and authentic self-expression Neurographica with Kalina Raleva – an interactive process involving games\, movement and an environment of acceptance and understanding\, drawing for balance\, focus and inner harmony Sacred Architecture of the Body with Emilia Kareva – the structure and interconnections of the human body through gentle movements and focused attention\, developing a sense of harmony\, stability and inner balance\, creative expression through conscious presence in the body LEGO Robotics with Maria Karabalieva – working with construction sets and basic programming\, developing logical thinking and teamwork Photography and Zine Design with Shtiliana Andonova – photographing authentic traditional costumes and costume details from Mezek\, creating an original mini-publication Culinary Workshop with the Grandmothers of Mezek – traditional recipes\, cooking as a form of sharing and community Outdoor concerts KARAT and AURORA Keminjidji Ethno Ensemble / Keminjidji Flying Nomads / Flying Nomads – https://flyingnomads.eu/ Concert by the amateur performers of Izgrev-1921 Community Centre featuring authentic songs
